Greetings from the DeanThere is increased interest in practical functioning and scientific research of public administration phenomena in all European countries and all the other developed countries in the world. A role of public administration is to perform laws and pursue state policies under government control and guidelines. This field of state activities became especially interesting now days because there have been increased strengthening of public administration during last decades of social and political development, as well as growth of administration apparatus that performs functions of this domain in a country.Because of enlarged number of complex demands being addressed by individuals and, even more, by different economic, professional and other associations to the country and because of strengthening of economic and social functions of a country, a number and complexity of jobs performed by some organs of public administration is constantly increasing. Because of all these things there is constant enlarging of management bodies of public administration in a modern society.

Foundation of a special faculty for public administration is fitting into endeavoring to scientifically analyze the position of public administration in our Bosnian-Herzegovinian society and to undertake everything possible to successfully adapt this area of the country to new demands and needs of present time. There is apparent need to build whole construction of public administration in spirit of the best-functioning democratic models in times of political transition. This part of country management is by its nature in direct contact with citizens and because of this it should fulfill all their needs in efficient and rational way. This professional and scientific approach to public administration domain is, among all other things, contribution to development and affirmation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is of great importance, considering approaching constitutional changes.
Problems of public administration are being studied only through Administrational law course at Law faculties in Bosnia and Herzegovina now days. Foundation of a special faculty which would deal with very complex and delicate area of public administration removes a big hole which existed in our educational system in the field of social sciences and creates prerequisite for creation of a rational system of public administration in our country and affirmation of sciences dealing with this field. This is, after all, a great chance and opportunity for our students to distinguish themselves in one of the most important, the most complex and the most interesting fields of a modern country.
